Mĕi Hūa is mostly known for being the concubine of the wily Baí Cōng, Honourable Companion to the last Emperor. She was made Companion as a sign of favour to her patron, and because the emperor liked her quiet ways. Those in the Imperial Priesthood, however, know that she fights tirelessly against demons who overstep their boundaries, and in fact was instrumental in the exorcism of the Twelve Dancing Demons who danced under Mount Wu T'ai. There are rumours she paid a terrible price for her part in that victory; but it is also remarked that her beauty seems even more radiant since that time. Only Baí Cōng knows for sure, and he isn't telling. Surely something is wrong, or her brother wouldn't be so protective?
