Xue Feng Yi, Hell Ambassador - James I

Among the College of Exorcists there are a number of specialists; those who will cast out the spirits that blight crops, or those who petition with heaven when things go awry. Some of these roles carry a great deal of risk, but one is noted as being one of the most perilous: to patrol the borders between Hell and the mortal world, sending wayward spirits and malevolent demons back into the infernal depths. For decades Xue Feng Yi has patrolled this border, risking life and limb to keep beings in their correct place under the Celestial Bureaucracy. With enlightened Kung Fu and esoteric knowledge he has fought back demons, exorcised ghosts and saved countless lives. Now he works with the Chrysanthemum Order to guide the Empire through this time of chaos and turmoil.

Eternity

With the plot of the Eight Skilled Gentlemen unraveled Xue Feng Yi stood down as Chief Exorcist and resumed his role as Hell Ambassador. He would serve in this capacity for the rest of Emperor Shen Ye Zi's long reign.

After the Emperor's passing he was one of the small group of Chrysanthemum Order members who persuaded the Empress-Consort Kubilai to retire from public life. With this loose end tidied up he prepared for his own entry to the afterlife.

Once Ye Zi's child ascended the throne Xue Feng Yi sought an audience and tendered his resignation to the Light of Heaven, along with recommendations for who might replace him as the emissary to the Yama Kings. This last service rendered he returned to Hell and submitted himself to the judgement of Heaven. With a long life (and death) of service to the Empire on the books, and a number of powerful friends on the Other Side it was perhaps no surprise that he received an invitation to cross the Silver Bridge to provide further service to the August Personage of Jade.

Inspection

“Quick everyone get back to work, there's an auditor coming!”

“Urgh, we're three days behind schedule already, there's no hiding that. How about we put a bribe together…or maybe lean on the censor a little? I know a couple of ghosts in the Hell Triads who can make accidents happen.”

“It's Xue Feng Yi.”

”…Well I guess demotion isn't so bad.”
